Are your eyelashes real?????

I wasn't aware of the huge fake eyelash phenomenon until moving back to Atlanta. It's a huge business. First of all it is important to note that it is the eyelash extensions that are the most dangerous to you. The reason for this is because while the regular fake lashes are applied to your eyelid for a short time, the extensions are applied right onto your existing eyelash with an adhesive that is strong enough to hold up under pressure. So one of the first issues with this method is with the bonding agent itself. The glue that is used for lash extensions is made so that it can hold on for about six or so weeks and as a result you will find that they are made with products that can cause issues ranging from irritating and causing your eyes to be sore to causing severe damage to your eyes and lashes. One such issue that can occur is called Traction Alopecia. This is a condition that makes your hair fall out when there is too much tension put on the actual hair shaft. What’s more, this same issue can also lead to ceasing of hair growth altogether. So making sure your eye health comes first is a very big part about using these products. Now I don't want to be a Debby Downer so of course I have an alternative.

LashMantra is a 100% Natural Eyelash Growth Serum which is made with Eighteen 100% Pure Cold Pressed Oils and Vitamin E Oil(Antioxidants and Natural Preservative). 1. TRUE TRUE TRUE!!!!!

I have experienced all of the above sadly, however, I still wear lashes. I like the more dramatic look of the thicker lash look that I cant get from make-up. I have become much more selective of processes and products as well as applications but what you write is true. The glue damages your lashes and potentially your eyes.

I experienced severe irritation, redness, itching, etc. with the "permanent glue" for individual lashes. The glue made my eyes sore and over time my natural lashes fell out completely BALD and I had to see a dermatologist because they would not grow back. The eyelash is the slowest growing hair on your body anyway and if pulled out or damaged it can take forever for them to grow back or halt the process altogether (NOT CUTE!!! AT ALL). I had to get a $110 Latisse(sp) prescription to apply daily to get them to grow back. As lashes are not deemed a medical necessity insurance will not cover the cost.

I had not heard of the herbal alternative until reading your post( good info...thanks).

And for those of you using the black hair glue STOP please....petroleum based and will make your eye infected over time and it will begin to itch and drain.

    LIVE WELL,

  2. wow, thanks for that testimony. That is exactly why I wrote this piece. I just want people to be selective and moderation is key even with beauty products
